Here is how a JazzCode participant described the event to a client:

Dear XXX
Several XXX partners have mentioned a unique presentation they participated in recently, which may help your top team to focus on teamwork and working with complexity.
The program is called ‘JazzCode’, and our approx. 300 members found the 90 minute performance very effective in showing how jazz musicians collaborate in real-time. The live performance, is integrated with a lecture and slide show and it engages the audience in thinking about how they can enhance the productivity of their own teams, especially in fast-moving and unpredictable contexts. The performance makes clear connections between the executive team’s key behaviors and mindsets required to perform in a complex and dynamic context, and those of an excellent jazz ensemble.
Jazz musicians have developed their own code which reduces the need for rehearsals, enhances interaction and embeds renewal – and Carl Størmer, the creator of the JazzCode brings a remarkable depth and excitement to the topic, because he is, himself, both a CEO and a jazz musician. Carl’s presentation to our own leaders was exceptionally articulate and it really energized the group.
In practicalities, the JazzCode presentation places the audience in a room with the jazz ensemble, and Carl leads the audience through the key issues in team work, complexity and accountability while also working the jazz ensemble through an analogous musical performance. It is possible to do it on site, but may be more impactful if it were held off site, at a local entertainment venue Carl can help to organize for you.
