Jeg nevnte at den norske kunstneren Sidsel Paaske laget en fyrstikk i 1966:
Sidsel Paaske: "Fyrstikk/Match" 1966
Dette blogget jeg om tidligere iforb. med at Oldenburg nå stilles ut i Norge. Spørsmålet er om kunstneren Claes Oldenburg plagierte moren min da han i 1987 laget denne:
Claes Oldenburg: "Extinguished Match" 1987
In 1966, my mother, Sidsel Paaske (1937-1980), a Norwegian Pop artist, created a extuinguished match during a stay with Kjartan Slettemark in Stockholm.
21 years later, in 1987, Claes Oldenburg made his version. The question is if he ripped off Paaskes idea. In order to prove that someone copied a work of art, the work must be of substantial similarity and the creator of the later work must have had access to the originial work. In this case the work is of substantial similarity, and Paaskes work was exhibited in Stockholm in the 1960's. Oldeburg was born (1929) in Stockholm, and it might be a plausible hypothesis that he could have seen her match in Stockholm during the 60's.
